Default How would this sound.....

Ok I am getting my Borla Catback (which is for sale by the way )off tomorrow and I have a Bullet Muffler and a Bassani Y-pipe....

I am thinking about getting just a turndown right after the Y-pipe instead of another catback...

I also have no catalytic converters (which are for sale by the way )

How do you think that set up will sound? Anyone have that?

Just get true duals if you are going to do that.

ricey? No, the V8 kinda makes that impossibile

But it will be very loud with just an open Y-pipe and no cats. I have heard that setup before....

Actually, I thought it sounded great. But it's too loud for a daily driver, IMO. The exact setup was, a T1 cam with S2 heads, stock manifolds with stock gutted cats, and an open Y-pipe.

Just beware that's it's gonna be VERY loud, that's all. Also might cause a few new rattles in the interior.

What I meant by an 'open Y-pipe' is exactly what you mentioned doing above when you said:

Basically, the Y collector will be the last part of your exahust system (plus the turndown tip of course), which will leave the exhaust exit right under the middle of the car.

That's what you meant, right?

TallyTransAm has a custom Ypipe with a single Flowmaster dumped before the axle. Sounds damn good.

Gutted cats do nothing but look like functioning cats for a visual inspection. They're hollow.

u said its right at the collector in the ypipe where its turned down right? do you have the pipe fastened to anything so it wont bang? if that pipe is moving freely and banging you will get flase knock killin the performance. just figured i would say this just incase.....
