I have a 160* thermo and mine still heats up fairly quickly about 5 minutes of sitting and the heater is nice and warm. while im driving around my gage sits just a little above 160*. If im sitting still for awhile in the sun it gets to about an 1/8 of an inch below 210*.

If you really wanna get your geek freak on, start Googling for DC PWM motor controllers (pulsewidth modulation). You can control DC motors with PWM. It varies the on/off time, not the voltage.

I have the Meziere pump with the 180 degree stat. in it and it warms up within a few miles of driving and it stays about 1/16 inch below the 210 mark. Which I am told is about 185 to 190 degrees. Heater is hot enough to use within 2 miles of driving. That was this morning at about 35 to 40 degrees outside. If you want it to run cooler drill bigger holes in it. Jimmy

I agree with you FDLS6. You can't completely shut the water pump down that would be potentialy very hazardous to an LS1. Wouldn't the 2 stage fan setup in our cars be able to support that. Fan 1 comes on at 175 and Fan 2 comes on at 190. This should be able to work for the electric WP, probably be able to use the same circuit depending on the current draw. Then you can install an indicator light in the dash somewhere to tell what stage the pump is at and to tell the operator it is working. If you ever blow a fuse for this WP circuit how do you know it until you see Hi Temps? Something to think about anyway.
