LS6 on a 99ls1

I just bought a ls6 intake for my 99 ls1 and I need to find out about the water lines. I read that you have to install the 2001+ water lines and plug the rear ports on the head. Is this a must? or can I use my old lines. Also what do I use for a plug in the back.

For the intake to fit you have to move to the coolant line that only runs in the front of the engine and not across the valley cover.

I am not sure if th plugs can be had at the dealer or at SLP. Since the block did not change and only the intake I would think the dealer has these plugs.

yes the new coolant tubes and plugs are a must.

1 12568478 (coolant pipes)
2 12563325 (plugs)

Gm has the parts. You can also cut the rear plugs off the LS1 water lines and get them welded shut. They are not seen so it doesnt matter. Have fun

You can grind down the fins on the intake too..
