Default Removing MAP Sensor?

What's the best way to remove the map sensor out from behind the intake manifold (while still on the car)?

Without breaking anything, of course.

I usually do alot of swearing while laying in a position that makes it appear as though I'm sodomizing the car. If the air injection is removed you can usually get both hands behind the intake and remove it. It is a bit harder with just one hand trying to pull the retaining clip back while lifting up on the sensor. It also helps if you pull the clips that hold the wiper cowl cover on before you start digging around.

It might be worth adding here that the 01-02 cars(not sure about 2000's) commonly set a MAP code when running a larger cam. The raised idle and lower manifold pressure exceed the MAP threshold set in the PCM and cause an MIL request. You either need to raise this threshold or disable the DTC in the tune.

well I just replaced my map sensor let me tell you that my idle is way better, my car is not stalling anymore, cleared the code and took the car out for a spin approximately 10 miles and the code didn't come back, normally when I cleared it, it would come back in like 2 minutes of driving.

I bought the autozone sensor, I priced out the gm original it was 99, autozone was 57, I just went with the cheaper one. 2yr warranty.

Hmm? I never really have a problem reaching back there to to screw around. It just a plug and the MAP retaining clip. Not like trying to replace the OPSU with the intake installed.
