Default LS6 Intake vs LSX Intake

I am at crossroads due to my LS1 Intake going bad. I am thinking about a LS6 intake or a LSX intake. Which one would you choose and why? I am also thinking about replacing my cam because the heads where taking off and inspected. I figure that since I am right there I might as well go ahead and replace the OE cam with a more aggressive cam. I thought these numbers222-224/50, 566-568 with a 112 lob sep or 220-22-/50, 553-553 with a 112 lob sep. What do you think and why?

I'd go for the 1st of the 2 cams listed.
Ls6 intake will do fine, but if you want to splurge on an LsX, then go ahead.

If you have no plans on tuning, then go for the smaller cam.

Since you like those durations, check out the sponsor's cams like the MTI B1, C1.

I was going to ask that also, I assume you dropped it and busted off the MAP horn.

I think you've been smoking more than snake. The LS6 intake is worth about 5-8 HP on a stock engine and about 10-12 RWHP on a heads/cam engine...hardly 5 car lengths.

Well, look at it this way...

LS6 intake 465 for max 8rwhp over LS1 intake.
$ per hp = $58.12

LSX intake 796 for max 23rwhp over LS1 intake
$ per hp = $34.61

these are standard new product prices. If you plan on buying used or can get a discount, then you need to factor in the difference. This doesn't include peripheral costs like gaskets and/or installation, but those costs should be pretty much the same for either route. The difference is in the cost of the two intakes.

The LSX intake is definitely more expensive, but from a bang for the buck perspective on a stock cubed LS1 intake engine, it looks like a winner.

Dyno results are still coming in on the LSX though, and there aren't any track results available yet. Typical, max, and min gains may, and probably will, change. It would probably be safer to wait a bit longer, but it does look like the LSX is a winner already, even if it does turn out to be a bit less of a winner than it currently appears.

**edit added here**
Just wanted to add, as the LSX intakes hit the market, there's probably going to be a surge in the supply of used LS6 intakes. Us LS1 owners could find ourselves with a readily available supply of cheap used LS6 intakes to upgrade too this spring/summer. Just another wrench to through into the decision making gearbox.

I documented 15 rwhp with an LS6 intake over a LS1 intake, jmX documented over 20 rwhp. As the diet ads say "These results not typical", however with in my case a cam and headers only car, the gains were much greater than 5-8 hp.

I was under the impression that it's been generally accepted that LS6 intake gains are greater if you already have additional airflow enhancing mods (LT headers, cam, heads, etc.)

I think it just remains to be seen if this holds true for the LSX intake as well. The results so far have been rather inconclusive. No trend has been established.

Over reving, miss gears, back firing due to bent push rods and with the intake, parts of it had melted. No the car to my knowledge has never been sprayed or blown.

The car has headers and an after market exhaust, air mass flow sensor, k&n cold air intake

The ls1 intake had pieces of it that had melted the size of a dollar folded in 1/3's, two bent push rods, and two fuel injectors that were misfiring on #7&8. All this contributed to the problem. Since I have to replace all of this, I thought I might as well upgrade
