Default I need just a single fireproof sparkplug wire cover.

Do they sell them single-y? One of my Taylor wires sits VERY close to my Dynatech header and I'd like to get just one cover for it. Thanks.

Usually you can twist the spark plug boot to clear.

If not, get a piece of insulating cloth tube. More hot rod shops have it.

Just wrap some aluminum foil around the spark plug wire in question. It works great.

Ghetto engineering, Terry Burger would be proud.

I actually thought of and did that but I didn't know if it'd "cook" the wire if heat got under the foil and insulated the heat IN on the wire. I did have Al foil wrapped around the one in question , I was too embarrassed to admit it though

the aluminum foil should deflect the heat, as long as u have enough on there where it wont heat through. wrap it a few time. should be fine. we used aluminum flashing in a fire place me and my friends made a fort back in the day ( im 19 so it wasnt but like 5 years ago lol ) anyway the flames were right on the aluminum and the wood didnt even get hot. tell me i cant do something ha i proved them wrong. i knew it woudlnt catch everything on fire lol so if its thick i dont see it being a problem, like i said the wood wasnt even that hot with a 3 hour fire

Yeah, I wrapped the complete wire up from the boot up past where it's close to the header tube. I also wrapped the foil around multiple times. I can take a picture, I ain't embarrassed.

Actually, I should check the wire and make sure it's not well done first. I haven't seen any sparks or glowing lights from under the hood at night so I think it's OK.

BTW, if you're worried about the wire get some of this header wrap and wrap a few inches of the header tube where it's close to the wire. This stuff is great.

Also, get some of the snap straps to attach the header wrap. The straps are Summit part number THE-13002

I use Accel 9000 wires; withstand the heat just fine.
