Default Cutouts and True Duals

If you have a nice X Pipe setup with nice mufflers, will you gain any horsepower by using cutouts? If so, where would you install the cutout(s)?

as close as possible after the headers... less backpressure more hp, maybe less torque. might get stinky

I am considering that for this summer myself. I doubt there would be any real power diff on an average powered car with good True Duals because they flow so well to begin with. I just loved the sound of open headers so much that I have to do it

I will be doing the same this weekend. I dont expect any gains...but a trex through electric cutouts should sound really nice.

There's never less torque! There's MORE torque, just peaking higher in the rev range!!!

If I had a dime for every time I've read the backpressure/tq thing....
I've seen enough evidence both on my car and on other posts that truly disproves the myth.

Well I plan on putting two bullets after the headers and then two street pro cutouts for the ultimate sound (minus the rasp). When I want it quiet I will just close the cutout and run it through my duals (4 mufflers).
