Default Bad sensor in oil pan?

The low oil light will come on on my car if the car isn't warmed up. I can go a mile in a half down the road to my work. Turn my car off wait about ten seconds, and the low oil light goes off. I have checked my oil almost every time this happens and it is always perfect. I know my oil isn't low so i am guessing that my sensor is bad. The oil pan is brand new from gm. The sensor came with it. What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Brent Pellman
