I just purchased a slp 85 mm maf. And its on the way. Guy said it was for 01-02. I have a 98. I figured it didnt matter. Am i wrong? Can this be fixed?

 

Don't worry about it, they're both semi-bogus but the
'01-'02 is a bit more "neutral" while the '98-'00 was set
up a bit leaner (low airflow reading).

Unless you can return for refund, pop the screen on the
stocker and relocate it to a straight part of the intake
tract. That would flow better than a screened 85mm
and cost you nothing.
