Default QTP or TTS headers

Torn between these two header sys. Wondering if I could get some input from people with either one. You can see my mods in the sig. The price for these two is so close that it doesn't matter as far as money. Power and clearence are the main factors. I am particularly interested in anyone running QTPs with the off-road Y pipe. I know that this will win the power debate but I do not want a redneck loud camaro. The car will be dyno tuned after the install of either sys. Thanks for the input everyone.

The TTSs are an excellent header. I chose them because of the thick flange and at the time neither the QTP, PPC, or kooks were ready with a Y pipe and cats, and because many of the GMMG cars use the TTS.

The other three will give more power and they seem to have their Y pipes in good shape now. Stainless vs. mild steel is another consideration.

Good luck.

I personally have them installed on my car and there are no ground clearance issues, i went from 320 to 348 with the headers on my car. There is a special going on now for QTP headers, give us a call and we'll help you out.

I have QTP's on my car with their Y pipe. The headers are awesome! My driver side cat scraps from time to time but my headers don't.

I've been real happy with the TTS's on my car. My car is only lowered 3/4" and I have never scraped the headers. They have really thick flanges and the custom 3" ORY I installed along with them sounds great with the SLP dual/dual.

Not to take anything away from the other two headers, which are both high quality, but what about PPC's? There is a GP in the works, check out the GP section on fbody.com

I am very happy with my TTS's now, but I got them over a year ago before Kooks or QTP's were out (Grotts were next to impossible to find). The quality on the TTS's is great, and the flanges are very thick. My concern is it seems they have a new design now, with the AIR tube sticking halfway down into one primary on each side. I can't say I would want that on my headers. If I were to buy a new set, I'd probably go with Kooks first, or QTP's 2nd.

I have QTP's 1 3/4" longtubes with their "dual electric cutout 3 inch y-pipe" -whew! The headers fit great and only took me an hour as I was swapping out the cam and had the intake and valve covers off. As far as the Y-pipe goes, I had some issues with it. It is in four pieces and I had to go to a shop to have it installed which cost me $75. This could just be my individual piece but the shop had to do some minor heating with a torch to coax it together. We still couldn't get the driver side piece on totally straight and it is sort of at an angle. The y-pipe hits the floorboard during rough take-off's and rough road surfaces. The cutouts fit great and are out of the way.
In QTP's defense, I never called them to give them a chance to correct it and if I had to do it over again, I would still have gone with this set-up.
I love the fit and design of the headers. My car is lowered almost 2 inches(!) up front, 1.5 in the back and I never scrape the headers(!), just the y-pipe every once in a while. I believe they are the best flowing headers on the market along with Kooks although I still like QTP's better because of the cut of the flanges and longer collectors. I didn't call QTP because you are going to have some problems with a Y-pipe as complicated as this one. It is a 3" y-pipe into a flowmaster 4" collector with dual cutouts. I have seen much worse with other custom Y-pipes in two pieces without cats or cutouts. All said and done it is in my opinion the best system possible with the ability to flow the most through open headers (and sound badass) and have it quiet through the catback.

Default QTP's

I have the 1 3/4" Race Style headers (regular collectors) and ORY. Very good product!! Haven't scrapped the headers once since I had them put on in September. The ORY hangs a bit low. I scrapped it about 2-3 times on speed bumps, which I try to avoid as much as possible. As far as fitment of the ORY, QTP has had the problem fixed for awhile now.
Don't have comparison dyno #'s but it made 338hp/347tq after the headers.
If I had to do it all again I would've gotten the high flow merge collectors (better scavenging) and gone with true duals (for sound and low end). Hope that helps your decision!!
