So Spohn Solid motor mounts really do raise the motor...

You're right. With no movement, the smallest amount of clearance should be sufficient.
If the mounts do wind up raising my engine, my car's going to get some BFH time...test-fitting my TSP duals, and I've got about 1/8" clearance on the driver's side header pipe, at the little rectangular body panel piece that runs across the car. If the engine goes up, so does the exhaust, and out comes the hammer.
Makes me wonder why in the hell the driver side header collector needs to be angled so far out away from the centerline of the car....there's nothing (at least on my car) that needs the clearance there. Hopefully the Kooks collector is angled a little better.

Bad thing: the shop told me that based on the welds on the mounts, they wouldn't recommend them for higher-power applications (even a decent cam). I guess you could have a good welding shop grind the welds off and re-do them if you wanted.

Poking around some, Madman makes a set of solid mounts, but they're marketed as race-only and are a little steeper than the Spohns.
I'll try to get a couple pictures this evening of collector-to-frame clearance, and clearance between my intake and fat man grab bar (er, STB).
