Misfire help! my 02 camaro ss is having minor missfire problems. i swapped the plugs and plug wires and its still missfiring according to my scanner. its not crazy misfire probles its like 6 and 1 and 4 and 2 etc. in each cylinder every 100 cycles. I also installed a GMPP asa Cam could this just be the nature of the beast? what do u guys think?
I have a random misfire also. It happened as soon as the cam was put in. Mine were misfiring mainly in one bank. O2 sensor on that side pretty much failed after the cam was put in. My car needs tune real bad after the new O2 is in place.
Even stock I observed a similar, low level of misfures.
Converter and cam both raised that. The more the
motor shakes (from lighter flywheel mass or bigger
torque ripple) the more you'll false-detect misfires.
I ended up doubling the table values to suppress that
but still keep gross-misfire detection.

i've got the same problem, but i've had a cam for 30k and it's just recently. I'll go from a stoplight just a regular start, and if i don't rev it to like 1500 off the light it'll bog and dump fuel. It also misses all throughout the rev range just as ya'll are talking about. it's not throwing any sort of code or anything.
and theres a HUGE power loss.
I strapped a 5.3 set of coil packs on (with like 1 bolt cause that's all that would fit) and it still was missing more on that entire bank. so it's not the coil packs
