not sure about Hooker, but with my SLP's i had to take off the oil filter, starter, and redo some wiring on the passenger side as well or at least i did, and if at all possible use a lift. i put mine on using 2 jackstands and it sucked big time. Also your hands will thank you ALOT if you take the coil packs off. You'd be surprised how much clearance they gave me..and thats about all i can remember at this time....hope it helps some

I installed Kooks not long ago.

Removed: coil packs, plugs and wires, oil filter, steering

Trick to getting the driver side in: Had to unbolt the motor mount and jack up the engine approx 2 inches.

I really don't think you'll need to drop the k member. I'd do that as a last resort.

Hookers slide in easy without disconnecting anything. If your doing it on the ground you just have to jack the car really high to get the driver side in.

Hookers are easy. I put the car on cinder blocks. Open part of the block under the tire. The passenger side just goes in. The drivers side needs the steering linkage, oil filter and oil diverter plate removed. After that it just goes right in. The cinder blocks lifted the car up enought to make this easy and only cost $4 at Lowes.

Do not use the Hooker supplied bolts, use the factory bolts. Other than that it is a peice of cake.

Tommy's Tip:
Make sure you clean the bolt holes with the proper tap, and use anti-seize while reinstalling the bolts. Residue in the bolt holes could cause troubles while reinstalling the bolts, alumunim is not so fun all the time.

QTP's slide them in, but have patience to wiggle push and curse, but they do go.

Kooks will go on without jacking the motor on either side.

All we did was drop the tranny cross member bolt and have a buddy grab the back of the tranny and move it away from the side you are slipping in. It doesn't move much, but it is enough.

Did not have to remove the starter, oil filter, steering link, etc. They fit perfectly.

Good Luck,

Tap size is correct I know that from experience. I tried to use the Hooker bolts first. It is an odd size and you wil need to get this from and auto parts store.
