Question Ordered a custom cam from TSP but specs from Comp are a little different...

Is this normal? I ordered a 228/232 .588/.581 on a 113+3 LSA & here is what the cam card says as I just unboxed it to start my install...

228/232 .588/.574 113.0

What gives? I would just call TSP, but they are obviously not open. I was REALLY wanting to get this thing done this weekend as it's the only free time I have for a while with 4 kids & all.

Damian, can you tell me how different these specs would be from the original specs I got from you? Won't the 113+0 be more rough than the 113+3? This is an A4 daily driver & I really don't want it to be too choppy. What will the +0 do to the power band? Are these exhaust lobes still XE?

Of course, I am a rookie at this, so maybe I'm just reading something wrong on the card.

Should I go ahead with the install or wait for the original specs?

My TR224 is actually a 225/225 according to the cam card. No big deal really. That cam you spec'd is almost an off the shelf cam motion cam. Jeez I wonder how those specs and Spartan Performance came up in the same post. I bought the exact same one with the .612 lift. Hardly anyone around this site uses cam motion. I like to be different so I ordered from them. Plus they are almost local to me.

LOL. The cam motion is not the "same cam". Different lobes, different size @ .006, etc. The Comp 228/232 is something I came up with without ever researching who else was using it 2-3 yrs ago. I wanted something that made good power under the curve, held power up top, and didn't kill springs. Then later on I found out that the G5X1 was the same specs, as well as the Streetsweeper from FTI.

Those specs on the card are correct. I may have just typed them wrong in a post somewhere.

Awesome, thanks Damian. Good thing, cause I already have the valve covers off.

PS That last bolt on the passenger side coil bracket has my arms cut up.
