I have the ASP crank pulley and now when Im at a stop light myvolt meter will go to like 7 or 8 if i have my lights on and air! It will always got to atleast 8 when I have my lights on at night. What can I do about it?IF i raised my idle would it help....the volts only drop once i have it in drive.

Could it possibly be an alternator about to die?

The ASP pulley will cause some voltage drop at idle especially with an A4 car. What does the gauge read at a steady speed?

The only time I am having the volt drop is when the car is in gear sitting at a light. While driving down the road at speed it reads a normal like 13 or 14 volts. But while im at a light its will drop to like 8 volts in gear...and when I have my lights and ac on it will do like 6! What can I do....and what will happen if this continues? Also would raising the idle help since the problem is when the car is in gear?

Try buying the alt. overdrive pully. I think thunder has them. But it sounds like your battery is not able to take the load.It most likely has a cell going dead if it drops to 6v. Try the pully and have the battery tested. Most places do it for free. Tony

A new battery cured mine.

When the battery gets weak, it's effected more by the pulley.

You could try recharging it. Mine was old enough, I put it out to pasture

The main reason im trying to get this fixed is because Im going to get a small system soon...prolly 400 watts maybe. If I get a new battery will I be able to run the system and lights at night without the current problem?
