Default kooks or QTP

i have posted a similar thread on here but this goes a little farther into detail.
right now im torn between Kooks or QTP's both are from what i hear a good header. everyone says kooks kooks kooks are the best. in my honest opinion i think qtp seems to be more technologically advanced. the velocity spike, and y pipe. the flowmaster y pipe seems to me to be better than the kooks y pipe, which looks plain jane to me. I am looking for maximum HP gains possible on 1 3/4 headers. I don't want to be a bandwagoner and buy kooks just because everyone else does. price isn't the issue just want the best let me know your opinions. it's not really stated but both i assume are tuned length.
thanks,

Why you would have a FAST and a cam before LT's is beyond me; but to answer your question, I would go with Kooks mainly because of the ball flange, or ball joint flange, whatever it is being called nowadays. The QTP headers do like they are built very, very nice. However, I personally have heard enough people saying the "slip fit" connection is a POS. With that aside, they both look like they are of top quality. I don't have a back to back dyno of Kooks 1 3/4 vs QTP 1 3/4, but it would come to down to preference.
They are both some what within the same price range. I have not seen QTP headers in person, only on the "interwebz", but I will say the quality of my Kooks 1 7/8 amazed me as far as comparison to my old pacesetters(I know, not a good comparison, but nonetheless). With that being said, all of my future cars will be equipped with Kooks.
Hope this helps.

Kooks. Fitment was perfect, they are high quality, and they sound awesome. Half the reason I got them was for the sound I've heard from every car that has Kooks headers. They definitely delivered on power. With just the mods in my sig I am making 360 rwhp and 375 ft lbs

I put down 485rwhp with my qtps that I optomized a little more...

I have a used set forsale too...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...bolt-rear.html

I can have the short collector welded up with a stainless 3" tube too so it is the correct length...save 250 on a great set of headers

I vote either kooks or ARH, QTP's y-pipe is a POS.

I LOVE my ARH 1 7/8, they are pretty awesome, and the y-pipe fit perfect

Kooks have a HVMC, which is something I haven't seen mentioned here.

I have Kooks and they're great; ARH also makes some great headers (incidentally, ARH are the bandwagon header now, not Kooks).

I don't know if it is bandwagon, but both ARH and Kooks have great customer service and their products are top of the line. I went with ARH because I got a better deal on them.

Not to jump here but I am about teh buy a 02 ss that i am going to have to redo teh exhaust on to legal for NC inspection. I know people here have the answers I just have not been able to fide them yet. I am needto know where I can either the Kook's or ARH's header and catted Y at the best possible price. Currently I am deployed (just one more month) but as soon as home I need to have the parts at the waiting for me so i can get the car on road and enjoy it. The car is currently running LPP Stainless steel long tubes into x pipe into sweet thunder TD dumps. I have yet to hear it but from the sound clips I found I dont believe its going to be that good hence why I and going to scrap the whole thing and start fresh. Any and all input and PM's welcome.

Spent a little time in NC myself (Greensboro)...been to "Fayette-nam" once or twice too (Army). Check out some of the sponsors >>>>>

Might want to get in on a Group Purchase or Sponsor sale in the FS Section...
