Ive ran the slp loudmouth for 3 years till recently (running open y-pipe now) it sounds awesome with or with out a cam. If you want something quiter I would go with the gmpp exhaust.

Are you on a budget? Do you want loud? Deep? Good tone? Check out ls1sounds.com like mentioned above.

There's so many brands out there:

Borla
GMMG
Corsa
SLP
Magnaflow
Hooker
Mufflex
Rumbler
Bassani

You get the idea. Lol. Magnaflow is really popular, unless you want loud then stay away from magnaflow cause it'll sound just like stock until you put the loud pedal to the floor.

i have a set of slp on my shelf the fit was very tight and they seemed to hang lower than my current KOOKs which have my vote for headers and as far as the catback i would say the loud mouth 2 is just what it says fkn loud but made of nice stainless,i personally love my Mufflex with the spintech muffler it sounds the best of the five i have had on my car.

I've had 3.

(all with pacesetter longtubes and ory)

1. Magnaflow, too quiet
2. LM2, too raspy
3. Borlamouth, deep and loud, perfect!

I like the Mufflex 4" with Spintech muffler on the f-bodies. Sounds awesome.

well the new SLP design headers look good. alot better than the old design. so i would not hesitate to pick them up. but they are pricey. since you are spending that much go ahead and get some ARH headers.

as far as catback exhaust i have magnaflow and am not really impressed with it. alot of people love it on here and think its loud even though its really quiet and im cammed. I plan on switching up to some duals. The only catbacks i would get is hooker catback, and GMMG and duals.

I like my Magnaflow. Sounds real nice, medium loudness during normal driving...........but when I go WOT it sounds like a NASCAR car.....loud and evil sounding.

Flowmaster's SUCK for our cars. Their cross-flow design sucks and they rust quickly. For a good price and great sound go with the Hooker Aerochamber cat-back.

It depends what ya want sound wise, magnaflow sounds really good but is quite, slp lm1 ,lm2,are really loud once you add headers and a ory,and crazy loud with a cam,my car with a ms4 cam,lm1,ory was the loudest car on the road,I like loud but it was pushing my limit, honest if I was staying with a y pipe I would go magnaflow and a cut out

Ya know I really love the sound of magnaflow, inho it is just not loud enough,if they could make it just a lil louder it would be the perfect catback

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but you guys seem to know these muffler sounds very well. What I want to know is which ones are the quietest. I need to replace my stocker and would like something that flows a little better, but I don't want to make a lot of noise.

My vote is hooker, ive got lt's o/r y pipe, and hooker catback, its quiet at idle no drone while cruising and screams at wot, its the best of all worlds. And they flow with the best of them.
