LS1 with LS6 intake bigger throttle body?
LS1 with LS6 intake bigger throttle body? I have a 99 TA with an LS1. I have the SLP lid and smooth air bellows & borla exhaust. I put an LS6 intake on the car earlier this year. I wanted to know whats a good bigger throttle body to install on the LS6 intake to get some decent gains? I see a few 80mm and up throttle bodies for the LS1 for sale. I would think the largest I could get that fits the LS6 intake would be best, but im not sure how big I can go. Also what is the stock LS1 throttle body diameter on a 99 TA?

Hey man im not far from you here in tn, The stock tb is 78mm im running a ls6 intake with a 80mm tb an it came with a adapter plate so it doesnt restrict flow, sometimes bigger isnt better if the intake opening is smaller than the tb it isnt going to help much. hope i helped ya some
I doubt you'll see much from the TB beyond simple porting
to remove some ridges, and making sure it opens all the
way to dead center (which you should verify, seen some
factory-gimp setups).
