Congrats. You've probably installed one set of Kooks in your entire life Mr. Expert.

I install between 3-10 sets of long tube headers a month.

I heard bbk had a new style long tube that fits in pretty good from the pic it looks like they fit a lot better than my pacesetters did,if you got the money go kooks, arh, qtp, those are way better quality, my pacesetters where kind of a pain but they work

I just put in some LPP's yesderday, I got them in with the car only up about 10 inches, with the Y pipe still welded to the passenger one. Went in really easy. I haven't really had too much trouble with any but SLP like I said before. Those are a serious project.

I think the BBK's was so easy because the ypipe wasn't as big as the regular longtubes headers ypipe , they look like a mac ypipe in diameter.

I have a set of BBK LT's and they fit very well. The passengers side is a little close to the floor board but not bad. As far as instalation goes i set mine in place before i dropped my motor in but i can say the passenger side fell out on the ground when i got everything bolted up.

Pacesetter Lts and ORY, 0 Problems. 01SS No Steering Knuckle removal and no grinding the engine TAB. Nothing. Just smooth.

And I have done 2 other Pacesetter installs on 01-02 SS and WS6. Also no problems.

These are the last parts I'm buying before I get the car tuned finally and will be done with the mods.

Basically want to know if there's a brand I should go with from the install perspective because as far as I'm concerned the power gain differences from slp, to pacesetter, etc are to small to warrant any concern on a regular bolt on car. I mean, I've installed ebay headers on other cars that were a pain to install, then some that were easy as hell to do. And the same seems to have gone for namebrand headers. I installed a set of pacesetters on my 3 valve mustang, and after changing the exhaust setup on it, went with some ebay headers and they were a piece of cake to install in comparison to the pacesetters.
Grotyohan...easily the best headers ever made for LS1's. And since QTP gets their LT's off the same exact jig that Roger Grotyohan did at the same company (Tubular Perfomance).........you can still buy original, real Grot LT's......

Mine are 8+ years old and look brand new.

I've installed both kooks and arh on numerous cars and must say arh have far better fitment.

It's not bad on a lift. Gotta pull the steering knuckle, unbolt the motor mount, and jack the engine up a little bit to get them it but that's no big deal in the air. On jack stands I'm sure it's a pain in the ***. This is something I'd expect from a 1 7/8 headers. Unfortunately the Kooks 1 3/4 require the same amount of work, with a smaller primary tube.
