Professional Products Typhoon 96mm?

when i was in the market for an intake i took the typhoon into consideration. Its a third of the price of the fast intakes and the performance is there. In the end i ended up going with a painted ls6 intake, but i really wish i would have ended up going with the typhoon. What kept me away were some of the OLD reviews of the older style which did have problems sealing, but since then they have taken care of that problem. I also really liked the intake because its different and not many people run them. Oh and it looks good too

any comparissons to the 85mm bbk intake? i had the older pp typhoon a few years ago and i had a problem with it sealing, took it off and went with the bbk. now that they've corrected that problem, i'd be interested in trying the 96mm. i want more power for my H/C setup but dont have the dough for a fast 92 or 102.

as soon as my tax refund comes in I am going to order the LS2 cable driven 96mm throttle body. I have the intake manifold and it looks great. I am going to powder coat it before putting it on. I have a lot going on with my car before I test it out with the new intake though.

Think about using a ported LS2 TB with a ported LS2 intake, one third the cost of a FAST. It will perform nearly the same, you could even convert to Drive by Wire. I am doing this conversion now. Don't have the LS2 intake yet, it's being ported and painted now.

I've read that the LS2 intake is a turd. That's prolly why no one really talks about it. LS3 intake on the other hand is supposed to be really good, but that doesn't help us much. A lot more goes into an intake than just the TB size. That, alone, doesn't make the intake.

I paid $345 shipped for the intake and rails and $230 shipped for the Throttle body.

Im really interested in trying this intake also looks nice way better priced than the fast and it comes with fuel rails how do the ports look inside are they finished up nicely are there any ridges inside them have you matched the intake up to the heads to see how well everything lines up??? I wonder how much of a difference it will make over a ls6 or a bbk intake???

That TB looks like a monster! Can't wait to put mine on now. I paid $230. If it works well at idle and doesn't surge, I'll be happy.
I am using a ported LS2 intake off a crate engine that came with injectors, rails, gaskets, and a DBW TB (for sale). Got a cable bracket from Holley, EV1 to EV6 adapters, coolant pipes/plugs, MAP ext. I think I have it all covered.
I've read two other threads this week that say if you have ported heads, you almost can't over size your TB, unlike the old carb days where fuel atomizing was affected.
Will my LS2 intake sit on my valley cover with stock LS1 bolts? Or do I need the low profile ones that someone mentioned earlier?

One thing to watch out for when you install that intake. The gaskets have extra large holes where the bolts go through. They don't use o-ring style gaskets. With the large holes, the gasket can slip to one side real easy. This will cause a vacuum leak so bad that the car will never run right. It most likely wouldn't even start, the leak would be so bad.

quick update. I shortened the cross over pipe so it does not stick up so high. I also ordered a new throttle cable and throttle cable bracket from Jegs got the Lokar 3' cable and bracket that has the hole for the cruise control because the one with out cruise would require a spacer. Plus I have to drill and tap the holes for the throttle cable. I am doing that tomorrow night and getting everything buttoned up so I will post pictures tomorrow night once i am done.
I also ordered a 4 1/4" to 4" 90 degree elbow for my intake. I decided to get an LS7 MAF and adapter cable because it did not make sense to me to go from a 4 1/4" Throttle body down to a 3.5" MAF. so that will be interesting..
