Pace 85mm MAF install problem
The MAF came with a wiring harness, but the connectors are funny. The 3 wire LS1 to 5 wire LS6 is fine, but the IAT plug just plugs into the stock IAT connector and not in the lid like before. Is this right? Does the 85mm MAF delete the IAT lid sensor? I need help. I noticed that TSP sells their 85mm lids with or without the IAT hole. Is this because it's deleted by the 85mm MAF? Someone please clarify.
The directions from Pace say 1997-2001 Corvette Y body on it. Did they send the wrong unit? Or are they just the same directions?
i would just plug it in the maf conector, and since you have to get a 85mm lid
i would get the one with out the IAT port.
because it's in the true air stream. With my lid-mounted
one there is substantial sensor heat soak; it takes
quite a while (many minutes) to come to ambient temp
although the inlet air on my car is about as fresh as you
can get. This is due I believe to it being located on the side,
away from airflow, and poorly "connected" to the actual
inlet air stream.
The bigger MAFs are all plastic housings and heat soak is
overwith after a couple seconds' running, as far as the
in-stream thermistor is concerned.
This a "one of these days" mod for me, to eliminate the
adaptor harness and bring the IAT wires to the SLP MAF
connector cleanly.

plus you could just solder in a 1k ohms resistor in series with the iat sensor if needed, makes a big diff. if heat soak is a problem
