Default ? about performance loss, bullets vs anything else

So it was brought to my attention today that my true dual set up might be hurting the performance of my car. Apparently a friend of a friend had a Y pipe on his car with a one chamber dumped and switched to an X pipe true dual set up with bullets. Well they dyno'd the car and he apparently lost 30-40 hp and then at the track he ran .4 tenths slower. I personally don't believe it but I am just wondering what others have experienced or if anyone has heard of this? Was apparently due to back pressure from the baffles? Any imput would be great.

I could maybe see there being a slight difference between the two, not sure in favor of which but they would be close either way. 30-40hp LOL, only if he was running 1 3/4" pipes on the true duals.

What kind of bullets? Fiberglass packed like dynomax or chambered like sweet thunders?

I was told they were dynomax bullets. Its kinda hard for me to believe also. Some friends are telling me to switch to 1 chambers to help increase performance because of the 1 baffle in the flomaster. I love the way my car sounds.

Dynomax bullets flow straight through like an open pipe. There is zero restriction.

Sounds like your friend's friend is full of ****.

ANY backpressure is a bad thing. A setup with less backpressure isn't going to cause a loss of power. End of story.

I went from a 3 inch ORY and magnaflow catback to a 3 inch true dual setup and only gained 6whp/7wtq. I'm switching back to a ORY lol
