Default Exhaust wrapped headers ?

Has anyone ever use the exhaust wrap on the headers if so what did you benefit from it?

i wrapped my headers, def. a big pain in the butt to do so correctly. The benefit of it is that it keeps engine bay temps about the same as stock and after running the car for a little bit you can actually put your hand on the wrap and not get burnt. The cons to it are that my car is lowered so my headers scraped a few times which tore up the header wrap around the collectors. Also if the header wrap gets wet(for some weird reason) it will smoke for a good while till it dries out. The more important reason for exhaust wrapping is to keep the heat in the pipes which will increase flow which is why most FI guys will wrap turbo pipes. hope that helps

I tried to do it once but gave up. I think that you would have to wrap the header off the car to make a decent job of it.

If you do it, wrap it from the back to the front. Have a friend help you. Also wet the wrap first and pull it really tight and make sure you spray it with silicone coating to seal it all up!! sounds like a lot. but it's not..
