Default TD Question

I have a stupid question; where do the hangers for the TSP TD's hook into on the undercarriage? Do you have to have brackets welded to the body for them to hook on to? I'm picking a set up on Sunday and I just realized that I'm not sure how they secure on the dumped end. Thanks.

I looked a lot at the TD sticky and saw that some guys had the hangers bolted through the floor pan and some had the hangers welded. I hate putting holes in my floor but there are no good welders around here.

What I did on mine was to remove the seatbelt buckle bolt and install a longer one of the same size and strength. Then I put a nut on underneath and then mounted the hangers to them. This way works just fine on mine and this way I didn't have to drill holes in the floor.

That's an awesome idea man. Do you have a pic of that or remember the bolt size? Thanks for the help buddy.

It is an m12x1.75 pitch bolt. I used a 60mm long bolt and trimmed it off once it was all mounted. I used a 10.9 grade bolt. Its a bit stronger then the original one but I prefer the strength. I dont have any pics of it but if I get a chance today if im not busy at work ill raise it on the host and take a pic.

My friends and I fitted mine yesterday and finished tucking it today. We have it tucked well (as well as to be expected) but I have to trim the dumps because they catch on everything. The dumps are 4-5 inches long so I'm going to trim them down to 2.5 inches. Thanks Mindless_Rage.

I love it Jesse. I miss the GMMG though, I must admit. It's SO much deeper than any y-pipe setup I've ever heard. It's louder at idle than the GMMG was but everywhere else sounds quieter to me. I'll let you know the next time I'm in J-ville if you wanna hear it. Mine are Sammy's old TD's that he had forever, lol.
