Thumbs up Header Removel need help

I have an ls1 with longtubes on. I didn't install them myself my school did big mistake. I heard you have to yank the steering shaft , but it looks like it hits the motor mount because it clears the steering shaft.

what do you mean u didnt put the long tubes on? the engine was out of the car ? anyway if you are installing them then it depends on the headers but mostly you will need to remove it so you get much more space. i did remove mine and it helped alot.

Are you removing stock manifolds or long tubes? I couldn't tell from your run-on sentence. Stock manifolds should be able to be removed easily without removing the steering knuckle. I also got my long tubes on without removing it. Others remove it to have a little more room to work with.

I had to remove the steering knuckle on my car when we installed them.

So I don't see why you could leave it on when your taking them off.
