Default Cutouts before the Cats?

Does it pay to put 2 cutouts before the catalytic converters? I've read up quite a bit and it seems like everyone is putting on just one. From what I've read their getting 10-12 rwhp. Eventually I'll get an Electric Cutout but that just bolts on to an regular Cutout from what I've read and I'd like to do one more cheap Mod before going to the track. Has anyone tried this? What kind of gains (track or dyno)? Thanks in advance

if you put them before the cats you are likely to get into trouble..
the rear o2 sensors will detect that the flow is no longer there and throw codes..... i would just put one after the cats in the I pipe.

i think it could be a waste of money to add 2 to a stock Y pipe when later on your are likely to replace it with a better system

get a QTEC cutout..they are awesome!

i agree, dont **** with the stock Y since if you get LT/mids you'll need a new Y. just stick a cutout in the I-pipe for now. i'd dump the flowmaster as well and forgot a cutout all together and just get a nice exhuast setup.

Agreed.

Two cutouts before the cats would mean that would have to relocate the cats further down stream to have enough room and would require the use of O2 simms. The gains of that over a single cutout farther downstream would probably not be worth the effort/expense.

Well the carsound cats are 9" from the actual cat, overall is 13", I looked at my Y-pipe and I think it might fit but I do need some experts with it done or have seen it before. I have the hooker ory and I was just cut it up to put them on, since emissions is a big deal in TX or at least im my area.
