ismy catch can setup right? its on a 2001 camaro. it seems ever since i put my catch can on, it now wont idle. on hot or cold startups, it takes a while to break into a steady idle and will sometimes die if i dont give it gas. could this be a pcv problem. it seems that right after i got it tuned, it ran perfect tho. and then the night after getting it tuned, i did the catch can and im thinking thats what caused it.

01-02 f-bodies came with LS6 intake manifolds, not the valley cover. The valley cover is under $100 and can easily be installed, there are two different LS6 VC, if you do the swap, make sure to get the newer design for the cleanest looking install.
ls1howto has a good write-up, but I believe it has the old p/n

FWIW, I have read that PCV issues can mess with the car's idle. I have an LS2 now so I plan to set mine up like this:

...You could do the same set up with the LS6 valley cover.

Still not sure what's the best setup, but mine's the same as yours and seems to be working well. Make sure it's doing it's job though.
You should be able to blow through the whole system with the hoses disconnected from the back valve cover hose, through the can and the valve and out the back TB hose freely with no leaks in between. You shouldn't be able to blow through from the rear TB hose into the can if you're using a PCV valve. At least that's my understanding. Is your valve backwards???
I've tried both setups, this works best for me. I currently have the LS6 VC nipple blocked. Both rear valvecover hoses meet at a barbed brass tee, then into the top of the can. All of the stock crappy lines have been replaced with fuel line. It catches a decent amount of oil.
A blocked PCV system will cause a low idle.
A leaking PCV system will cause a high idle.

Did you blow through the system to see if it's working one way only?

i had the issue when i did my ls6 valley cover, blow through your valve and see which way is blocked and which way you can blow through, you want the crank pressure to be relieved into your catch can
