i definitely would take gmmg or duals over magnaflow. i actually am gonna be replacing my magnaflow with duals here shortly.

i like the hooker catback better than magnaflow. hooker catback has a more deep, muscular rumble at idle compared to magnaflow. magnaflow is a favorite on here because its stainless steel for $400 bucks. so it really is a good quality catback. like i said, im running longtubes, ory, and magnaflow and it is still quiet for me even being cammed.

i'm currently on stock manifolds, cats. i do have an enlarged y going into a slp loudmouth. it does sound great, lots of low end rumble. i know this will change with LT's into a OFY, but i'm seriously considering running the loudmouth front pipe (resonator) into a magnaflow rear pipe and muffler. i don't mind loud, but i do hate the rasp. i've had two ls1's with lt's, ofy, and hooker catback, they sounded good until mid to upper rpm's then the rasp seemed out of place for these cars. i'm looking for a much more refined sound from my car. may even go with a catted y pipe, but on the fence about that. anybody tried any kind of this combo? maybe something the OP is looking for???

You have the dual/dual on your SS atm? That is one of the best flowing mufflers out there.

Are you going to run headers? I didn't see you mention if you were or not. Why not put the headers on and then see how you like your current set-up?

If your switching exhausts in hopes of gaining some hp you will be disappointed.

Have you thought about putting in a cut-out?

You can't really go wrong with the sound from either. But I always liked the Magnaflow a little more, hence why I ended up with the Maggie on mine. I absolutely love how it sounds and so does everyone I run across. Very, very aggressive tone at idle, mellow while cruising and plenty loud at WOT.

If you really want the best sound out that muffler, add a Flowmaster merge collector(if you have an o/r Y pipe)and you'll drool over the sound.

BUT, if I find a GMMG, I'll swap it out ASAP

Have had them both. No drone with either, I would go Magnaflow. With my mods mine is loud enough and roars WOT.

My Corsa muffler fell apart at the welds, POS, car has never seen winter, Corsa is overpriced for what you get. My .02 cents.

A local club member said the same about his Corsa catback. That's quite disappointing considering the outrageous price tag.

Jay-P, no dual-dual, just the base SS exhaust with theSLP Y pipe. Headers are not out of the question in the future, I'd just have to make sure everything would pass the local "sniff" test. I'm leaning towards the Maggie for the reasons already listed and yeah, price is one of them!

I guess the SLP Dual/Dual has been replaced with the "Powerflo" line at SLP. Unless I look for used , of course. I have looked at the new SLP stuff, it looks good but the intermediate pipe is still 2.75" with a LM2 resonator and according to an LS1Tech poster, the id of the resonator is only 2.5" I don't know if I'd be further ahead that way either... I have looked and decided against it.

yes, you would have to look used, but it is stainless, and the tips will be able to polish out to look like new. you have to be patient but there are 'like new' systems on here every so often and it will be cheaper than the the cheapest aftermarket SS system.

I have a brand new Corsa Catback (w/ Premium Quad Tips!) that I need to sell quickly. Didn't even open the box. I'm willing to go significantly below retail.

Anyone interested please PM me with your location.

How about neither!!!

Do yourself a favor and get a GMMG Chambered system. You will thank me later.

It looks cool as hell, sounds the best out of your current choices, and is on sale at Vengeance right now for 600 bucks I think.

Don't even listen to sound clips, go hear one in person if you have any people you can contact through any LS1 boards.

Case closed.

Honestly who ever pays that much for a cat back deserves to get riped off.

I've never liked the magnaflow. They sound too much like a mustang to me. The hooker sounds good and so does the gmmg, I've never heard the Corsa. If you want a little louder than stock but not annoying, hooker or gmmg for sure.

i just replaced my magnaflow for 3' TSP duals with dynomax bullets dumped. It sounds so much better than magnaflow. I can actually hear my cam lope. With magnaflow it was too quiet man.

I swapped my magnaflow for a gmmg last week. It's freaking awesome! Not too loud in the car, loud as hell behind it and has killer tone at idle.
