those are some nice headers but wouldn't the 2.5 inch y pipe hurt the performance alittle compared to the 3" y pipes?

^Did you read the above thread? The 2.5" pipes are off the collectors to a 3" merge; the guy in that thread made just as much hp as any other longtube ORY combo.

thinking depends on the combo but I would like to see a side by side comparison big bang for buck!

I think for the money these are some good headers. I have them on my car. They went in no time.

How many miles do you have on them? And how is the chrome holding up?

I don't see a better bang for the buck header combo on the internet. PLUS they have flanges on the collectors, not supplied U-bolts. Bolt-up flanges FTW

I just put these in on Tuesday and let me say they are very nice. A lot better than the edelbrock lt that I had in there before. They slid right up with ease and they tuck up really well!

What all did u have to do to get them in(you know, the typical kmember cut/block grind/steering etc). Just curious and trying to organize a plan to get together for when I get mine. I'm not opposed to doing all of them lol, but I've heard these go in with just about any modding which would be too easy haha. Oh, and how long did it take u? Sorry for the bombarding of questions but ive gotta do my homework before I jump into a mod lol.

Yeah I wonder the same. I guess they would be between painted and ceramic coated as far as durability.

I agree, but am still curious. I've seen an LT1 car with chrome headers and they were a bit discolored, but they held up well and actually looked fine!

I did not have to do anything. The instructions said to unbolt the steering knuckle but I did not do it and they slid in fine. They are that easy lol I just took edelbrock ones out and those were a pain in the *** to install. It took me about 3 and half hours to install them with a friend. The y pipe went in fine as well but it took a little maneuvering but it all went together perfectly. The ground clearance with the 2.5 inch y pipe is nice.

So it seems that these headers have better durability than painted ones. Installation is about as easy as it gets for LT's, and the power increase is just as good. Also a little more ground clearance with the 2.5" y-pipe. Also saves some cash vs. buying coated pacesetters. Sounds like a winner to me. With this price I can put the savings toward a mail order tune so I won't have a pesty SES light on. Tax return is going direct deposit for sure this yr!

Looks like they have hookups for rear 02's, would stock O2's reach them. Just wondering how to plug the holes up. Either way, a complete non-issue.
