TSP catted y-pipe..wtf?
First I put the Y-part into the I-pipe.. no problems. Thought I would have problems with this because I've heard of them not fitting into the I-pipe easily. Luckily mine slid right in. Go to put the pass side cat on to the header, slid it on as far as I could, good to go. Now the fun starts. I head over to the driver's side and try to fit the extension piece over the header. Not happening. Not even close. The ******* extension is basically the exact same diameter as the header. Sick. Off to exhaust shop to have them expand the pipe. Luckily the guy was nice and didn't charge me. Get home after a 20 min drive to the exhaust place, go to put the extension on the header and it fits nicely. Awesome. Only one problem. This extension piece, even when slid on the header as far as it can go, is WAY WAY WAY too ******* long to even come close to fitting on the cat pipe. I know what you're probably thinking: "Stop being a bitch use some muscle and muscle it in there." No. This thing is a good 4-5 inches too long and completely mismeasured. How the **** do you sell something that fits so terribly in two different ways. Not only did I have to get it expanded but now I have to get it cut. As if $350 for a ******* y-pipe wasn't enough money now I'm most likely gonna have to have this professionally done so that the **** doesn't leak all over the place after I get it cut. /rant

Am I the only one who wants to blow their brains out after trying to install this POS?

B. It's just frustrating that I already had to get it expanded and now it needs cutting. I shouldn't have to do either of those things. Call me picky but when I pay $350 for pieces of bent metal pipes albeit with cats I expect it to be 100% ready to go. I'm a full time college student/athlete and I don't have time to run back and forth to an exhaust shop all the time to get **** custom done when it should be ready out of the box.
I actually made this work but I don't know if I'm going to keep it the way it is. What I did was unbolt a bracket back by the catback holding the I-pipe to the frame. It was more of a support bolt for the I-pipe than anything else, the catback is still secure. As a result of this the y-pipe now fits but the CB is pushed back a little because of the drivers side of the y-pipe being too long. Clearance is also pretty crappy. After I drove it around it's obvious that the CB bumps around a little bit. It's not bad enough where I'm scared it's gonna fall but it's enough to notice. I also have at least 2 small exhaust leaks but it could be because I ran out of good band clamps and had to use the shitty clamps that the Y-pipe came with. I'm gonna get a couple more band clamps and see if that helps. Do you guys think I should keep it like this? After driving it hard for a good 10 min it seemed fine but like anyone else I want it to last as long as possible.
And one other thing.. holy ****! The difference with L/T headers is unbelievable. This car has always ran strong but you can just feel more power through the whole power range.
I have installed multiple y's on my car, including 3 tsp's. I always pull the pipe out of the muffler, then start from the front and work my way back. I don't see how you could fit the piece that connects to the I pipe first and get the other pieces to fit without it being a major pain in the ***.
Glad you got it worked out.
