Default LS6 valley cover question

I have an LS6 style valley cover that came off of an 04 gto with the ls1. Is this the style cover that needs the pcv valve inline or is it built into the cover?

If it has a nipple on the front, it's built in.

You need to post a pic. We have to be able to see the underside to give you a definite answer. That or the part number off the bottom. The nipple alone will not tell you this as some require the PCV valve and some don't. Just depends on whether it's a late model cover or early model cover.

They are around here through the search feature. Mine is new style, note the holes in the bottom. No PCV needed.

Since you got one from an 04, it should be the newest style, they came on 04+ LS6/LS2. I installed the 04+ LS6 Valley Cover. Part number was directly from an 04 GTO. I had to replace knock sensors so I wanted to do it. Since then, oil consumption drastically dropped.

Do you still need to dremel the block with the newer designs?

So i took my valley cover off this weekend and i do have the new style that should have the pcv built in. The cover has the holes and the correct part number.

Then you're money. No PCV valve required.
