Default what is the most quietest catback on the market?

i have the b&b tryflo and thats even too loud with my head,cam,off roads ect,ect set up. i'm looking for the most quiet and best flowing. i thought about just putting the stock one on w/a cut out at the end of my kook y-pipe. THANKS, mike c.

i'd have to say slp d/d, its a great sleeper catback setup. the magnaflow aint too loud either, especially around town. it just makes itself known when you go WOT

or if you dont want to swap catbacks you can always add a 18" bullet in the I-pipe and/or get some cats.

ATR, this is 1 step louder than my stock 98 SS cat back. note, my stock stuff
always seemed to be louder under my seat than anywhere else in my car.
the ATR is out the back..

I was running the Edelbrock cat back & it's pretty quiet, wakes up pretty good @ WOT, but doesn't really come with tips, just turndowns. The Edelbrock cat back is also about the cheapest cat back out there.

Now I'm running the biggest bastardized exhaust on the board. Pacesetter LT's, Pacesetter ORP, Edelbrock 3" I pipe with a QTEC back into the stock Formula muffler. I got rearended & messed up the muffler so I got the body shop to re-install the stock muffler onto the 3" Edelbrock catback. With the cutout closed you can not tell that I even have long tubes & ORP @ idle.

SLP dual/dual hands down!!! That aftermarket cat-back is so quiet it makes me sick! Seriously, it is that fuggin quiet. Even on a car with heads/cam, headers, and no cats, you can barely even tell it is modified.

Sounds JUST like the stock OEM exhaust IMHO. But it does flow much better than the stock system and holds its own against many of the other well-known brands.

Just find a used one off a factory-made SLP SS for dirt cheap on one of the boards...

2000LS1Z28-looks like the slp dual/dual is what i'm after.the b&b is not too bad,but w/kook Lt's,offroads,and cam,it's still too much for me. besids,thats what the cutout is for, noise. thanks for all the replies.

Another quiet option would be the Hooker system, barely louder than stock for around town driving.

i have a 230 cam, lt's, ory, and slp dual dual....sounds damn stock..
then after the po0r cobra tries to toy with me i open the QTEC cutout and scare the **** out of them

I'll have to say Dual Dual. One of my friends up here has a 422 stroker with Grott long tubes, ORY and you can hardly notice the lope of the cam...

i just called slp and i found out they just changed the muffler on their dual/dual system.seems it's not going to be as quiet as the old system, maybe i can find a used system.

Find someone selling a used original dual/dual, they usually go pretty cheap but the problem is the mufflers and tailpipes are welded to the muffler so they are a little tough for most people to ship. SLP has been saying they wll have a louder muffler for a while but the last new one I heard was pretty quiet..

I love the way my car sounds with the dual/dual and the blower - cutout only gained me ~10-15rwhp (hard to tell with the intercoolers getting hot on the dyno) at 460rwhp so they flow pretty well..

i can definately tell that my car is not stock with the SLP dual-dual. I was sitting here reading and wondering what was different with mine. I only have LTs (with cats) that would make it louder. I must have one of the new ones. =)
It's quiet at idle, but not unnoticable. It also wakes up (not loud, but definately not stock) around 2-3k rpm on up.
