Holley Intake worth it??

I'm up to speed on the hot air - bad, cold air - good thing and I can certainly appreciate wanting cool, dense air for optimum power BUT how much warmer does it get? How much power is lost? I certainly won't deny that the thermal properties between aluminum and Nylon are considerably different, but unless you can show those interested in this intake these SIZEABLE, measureable differences that impact engine performance negatively then a general comment like metal intake - bad, plastic intake - good is pretty useless unless backed up by some good 'ol fashion recorded facts.
Aluminum can't be that bad...they've been on cars long enough, haven't they? I hope you or anyone else is not under the impression that GM designed a plastic intake specifically for our beloved LS1's because the LS1 is heat sensitive?
LPE = overpriced? 'Can't afford it' comment was tongue-in-cheek retaliation. Do the homework and you'll find there are other shops out there just as and defineately MORE expensive. Scroll through our sponsor's list once...
. That's another thread though....Baller?
We went 9.80's with 600 RWHP on the spray with our 5.3 Stg 1.5 heads, added the Judson LS6 Stg 2.5 heads and Weiand intake and picked up 90 RWHP!!
Overpriced how?
Lets just say they pay extra for being Silent Killers.
You cant tell the difference between
stock cars w/ exhaust, and there heads and cam cars.
Even there 427 TT sound like they only have exhaust.
Well till they blow ur doors off in the 9sec 1/4 fashion.
Dont bash LPE if you never saw there cars. K.
check the intake flow test in the FAQ (sig)
and damn this is an old thread...
