Holley Intake worth it??
the ports are not difference between the two, its the plumbium (sp?) so porting wont get you anything (might actually hurt). If you want an intake, get the LS6, otherwise leave it alone and spend that $500 on something else (LT headers)

This 'heat soak' issue is curious to me...has anyone every really been able to validate this? If so, how? How much is lost? 5? 10 ponies? Doubt it. Can't see how or why Lingenfelter/Holley put a product on the market that doesn't/won't make power. I see this intake making every bit the power of the LS6, if not more, based mainly on the ability to modify it.
I plan on strapping a polished one on before 'show' season, so my intentions are show biased. Ponies are still a priority for me as well but I really don't see losing any 'measureable' horsepower as a result.

Put on the Holley intake made 3 pulls the first being 388.9 the second being 390.3 and the 3rd being 390.7
I was impressed. It acturally gained more as the engine got hot like it always does.
Power wise for me was the same, I just wanted it for the looks.
ANY heat that is induced into the airstream is bad for HP. In addition, there are countless writeups about people having major fitment issues with that intake manifold.
Lingenfelter = overpriced name.......
, thanks! What's that have to do with ls1newbie's question?As long as it will make at least the same power as a LS6, I would think it's worth it. It looks way better when it's polished. Thanks for the feedback.

I have the intake brand new in box with all gaskets (got it as a gift). Not sure if I should put it on or sell it.

LOL... its so great that they use the plain ol' LS6 intake instead of their own intake
That right there should tell you something. Nice SOTP difference over the LS1 intake, haven't gotten back to a dyno since the install.
I polished the runners on mine, it looks nice. Got it used for pretty cheap.
From what I hear it was made from an LS6 mold, but has the ability to be ported and machined much easier due to the aluminum material.
Happy driving,
