Default methanol with nitrous???

I have a 2000 z28. It has a tr224 cam with ls6 intake, 3600 stall, built 4l60e, 4.10 gears.... i am wanting to put a 75 or 100 wet shot on it, would it help any and be safe to put a meth injection kit on my car also????

just have the tuner pull back the timing for the NOS.the methonal inject kit is ment for FI.

theres no point in putting a meth kit on a NA motor with nitrous
Meth will make about 20% more power if its 100% meth vs 100% gas...
but the kit is designed to be a spray to add to the fuel as a cooling effect for use with forced induction.
you wont see an increase of more than 2%~3% at the most if you are lucky..
you will get more power by adding a bigger shot of nitrous...
a 150 shot is safe on a stock internals motor if you pull 2* of timing and get the fuel mixture correct...keep it around 12.5~12.8 and it will be fine....and you dont need the cooling effect of methanol for that.

12.5 - 12.8 is way lean for nitrous...keep it between 11.5-11.8....

12.5~12.8 is not lean for nitrous...have been doing it for years like that with no issues, one of my previous cars, lots of friends cars, nobody has had any issues yet.

theres no point in going down to 11.5 on nitrous...you dont make any more power at that AFR with the juice.

people have been saying for years that "rich is safe" and most guys tend to believe it, but that could not be farther from the truth. Excess fuel just tears up the rings. 99% percent of nitrous related engines failures are from too much fuel, too much timing, or both. It is EXTREMELY rare to burn a motor by getting the nitrous system too lean. Barring a mechanical malfunction or an extremely bonehead tune up change, that is nearly impossible to do.

guys running 600hp shots of nitrous or more in the Pro Mod class are running 13:1~13.5:1 afr..on a big shot of the juice

12.5 may not be too lean if your tune is spot on. It is pretty typical to get a lean spike when the nitrous hits and you are better off if you are at 11.5 before the spike rather than 12.5. Also you would want to pull more than 2 degrees of timing on a 150 shot. We ended up pulling 5-6 degrees on a 125 shot.

To th OP: meth injection is used in FI setups to cool the air entering the intake. This is not necessary on nitrous setups because the nitrous already cools the inlet air considerably.

again.. being lean isnt what hurts you...

too much timing or too much fuel will

and pulling 5-6 is over kill for a 150 shot...
2 is enough.. 4 if you want to be safe... 6 is way too much

and really.. none of it matters of you put it on a dyno, see where it stops making power, and then back it off 1*~2* from that..
you'd be amazed at where you end up
