Default alternate temp sensor location?

Is there a temp sensor location on the drivers side of the 243 heads? I know there is a plug on the pass side. Where is the one for F bodies/LS1's? Does the Fbody have two sensors or does the gauge feed from the ECU?

I'm doing a swap is why I'm not sure of these, sorry if they seem dumb.

one 241s they take the coolant temp from the front of the drivers head. There is a plug in the rear of the passanger hear.

Id imagine 243s are the same. I know some people run mechanical coolant temp gauges out of the pass. head because the ECU needs to see coolant temps to run right

The heads are interchangable from side to side, so if the sensor is on the driver's side front then the plug is on the passenger side rear. It can be put in either one

This is correct. Also, you can tap into the coolant cross-over line running to the radiator.

You need to use a 3-wire, ‘98 coolant sensor, p/n 12551708, to get a true reading for the gauge.
