I'm planning on doing custom headers on my LS1 powered 1970 Corvette. The issue is that the collectors on my sidemounted exhaust are outside of the body, 45" away from the head. See image at:http://matt.undiagnosed.org/images/v...ed_profile.jpg
This is too far away for regular O2 sensors. How would it be if I were to put the sensors in one of the primaries, closer to the head? It should go on the leanest cylinder, right? Is there one cylinder per bank that is typically the leanest on an LS1? Any comments?
Thanks,
Matt

That is a real tough one. Trying to make the comupter happy is going to be a problem. I might be best to run it open loop, perhaps with an aftermarket computer since you don't have the other hardware the LS1 PCM normally expects and manages.
