Losing hp with stock catback?
Losing hp with stock catback? I am running the stock intermediate pipe with a welded in flowmaster (i know they suck) but i just orderd a 3" dmh e-cutout, do you think with the cutout open on the i pipe, that the stock 2.75'' pipe is gonna make me lose power if so how much rwhp do you think it would be. Also my 3" o/r/y reduces down to 2.75 so a 3'' catback can slip over so you think there would not be that much difference. Mods are in sig...
Is defiantly a draw back, Its like your running with a snorkel, small intake and small out you cant breathe well enough to do well but take it off and you will preform way better, in your case there is a ton of back psi because your car breathes well but cant push it out the back. With a cut out open it will make power because there's no restriction from the muffler and pipe bends, I would upgrade to at least 3" and if im reading right your y pipe goes from 3" to 2.75 correct? With your mods 3" all the way and if you got the money go with a true duel 3" setup!
I have a good setup until I get to the stock WS6 muffler. When I was making 400 RWHP it wasn't too huge of a loss but when I swapped cams it made a 20 RWHP difference open at the 450 level.
