My set should arrive today. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get around to installing them. I'm going to have them coated first. I'll post some pics and dyno results when I'm done. I'm also deciding on a suitable Y pipe. I'll probably make my own. They look like they'll make excellent torque in the low to mid rpm range. Should be real sweet for my A4.

Heddman has been around for decades...
You should be fine.
They price their stuff where it should be priced.
The other guys were just gouging LS1 customers because we didn't have any other options for a long time.
A big/old outfit like Heddman just takes a long time to get stuff to market. The LS1 market is very small compared to other stuff they make and develop.

I get this when I find those headers on the Jegs site:

500-68534
1998-02 Camaro/Firebird, 1-5/8'' to 1-3/4'' Stepped Header
Note: Must be used with exhaust kit 500-13200

That exhaust kit is $330...

just make a custom dual over axle and post some pics mate.

Oh yeah dyno the bastards too. I bet they are knock-offs of knock-offs.

Kinda like lids, most low cost headers all perform within the butt-dyno of each other, but fitment is more an issue. good analogy.

With that size, it should produce nice TQ under the curve. It's nice to see the prices drop.

I Just measured my set. They are in fact 1 1/2" to 1 5/8" with a 3" collector. My initial impression is that they are a nicely built header. Even a little deburring inside the primary tube entrance. The collector flange appears to be a ball/socket style coupling with a sliding 3 bolt flange.

Yes, they have EGR and AIR takeoffs. I'll do a before and after dyno test of these headers, but first there are some rough spots I want to smooth out. I'll try and get pics posted up soon "as delivered". I'm looking at building my own Y pipe and am gathering the necessary parts to do so. I'm not sure if I should retain the ball/socket swivel flange or tig weld the flange or go with a slip fit and a "t" clamp. Like everyone here, I need maximum ground clearance but would like to retain the 3" pipe to the Y connector. I'm open to any ideas and suggestions.........

I also am going to build a custom Y pipe to mate with my new QTP headers (Grots) and Magnaflow catback... For stock cubes, 3" is more than enough and 2.5" is probably enough. I'm going to do a hybrid, because I want Cats- since I want the cats to not be a big restriction, I'm going to weld on 3bolt flanges to the QTPs, run 3" to the Carsound/magnaflow cats, adn reduce down to 2.5" right after-- then I can go into the smaller flowmaster collector- 2.5" x2 into 3", rather than 3" x 2 into 3.5 or 4".. JC Whitney has the best price I can find on alluminzed mandrel bends.. I ordered up an assortment and will cut, splice and weld my y together..
