Default Fast 102 or Ls6?

Guys Ill be finishing up my head and cam swap along with a few other things. Ill be around 430 to 450 hp. I cannot decide on which intake manifold to purchase. I was initially going to get a Fast 102, but if I do I'de also have to get new fuel rails, and a new plate kit for my nitrous. How much horsepower will be lost if I decide to go with an ls6? I have the Prc ls6 2.5 heads and a 228/230 .588/.592 112 LSA. cam shaft in it right now. I'm beginning the final steps to get the valvetrain back in order then its up to the intake manifold. Any thoughts?

I dont think youre going to "lose" anything going with an LS6 intake on your setup. Youre not running a monster cam, so a 102 sounds like kind of an overkill IMO.

There is more power to be had with the 102. Enough to justify the cost? Probably not.

i would go with an ls6 because, as stated above, i dont think a fast would justify the cost of it. My opinion is probably biased though because i think all the fast intakes are WAY over priced.

I agree, I'd just focus on making the ls6 + what you have the best it can be, everything ported and polish, etc. My combo is the same as yours roughly, and there is no way I will do a fast intake unless it's about the same cost as a ls6 if I see one used.

i think a FAST is more optimal on a H/C setup but its not cheap. then getting a TB and tune will just add to your cost.

if you can afford its worth it imo.

How much power and how big of a cam do you need to justify the 102?

I have heard the ls6 intake does not gain much when ported, some shops claim they can get more power out of it however. I would just leave it stock.

Get used a fast 90/92 and have it ported. Can use the stock rails. LS6 will be a restriction on your motor

The LS6 intake will be a restriction not because of the cam but because of the heads. The LS6 intake pretty much runs out of steam at 265 cfm (which is a good match for stock 243s). But PRC LS6 Stage 2.5 Heads in this case are good for almost 316 cfm with that cam.

the FAST 102 is superior to the LS6 intake (except under 1000 rpm, but who cares) and to the previous 90 and 92 versions to. the 90/92 FAST intakes tend to make great power in HP and TQ, while the FAST 102 you could probably squeeze a few more torque out of it with the same setup and definitely more power.

Dark, so in my case I would not be using my heads to their full potential correct?

Get the 102, look around and you can find one well under retail. My friend bought one fully ported with rail/injectors and MAP sensor for 1200. They go on ebay regularly under 700. It will outperform the LS6 on any setup

I just sold my ported 102/92 setup with rails crossovers and all for 1275 shipped.

With zero tuning and a cam specd for ls6 intake i picked up 9rwhp amd almost 15rwtq. Tune said after using I would be at about 15/20 gain.
