Looking for high flow cats

I absolutely have no idea / experience with cats at all. Shortly after I bought my car I installed a Pacesetter ORY, Pacesetter LT's, and LMII and it's been that way since. After installing my cam, cops in small towns don't like how loud my car is, so now I am in the market for cats because I'd rather just get a noise complaint than a huge fine. Are the best high flow cats that I can use with my Y the Magnaflow 3"?

I have used thunder bolt high flow cats with good results. They should take care of most of the rasp.

Both dynomax and magnaflow make hi flow cats from what I know,,However if its just the visual inspection by the law you are worried about then look up non-catalytic converters, they look just like converters but are straight pipe on the inside, cost about 30 dollars a piece online.

Well my inspection is also coming up in April so I think maybe I should get real cats instead of just "visual aide"

2 questions:

1) What's cheaper & easier: cutting your ory and welding in new cats, or just buying a hi flow catted y?

2) Will cats really help with the loudness or just the rasp?

I just added a cam to my Kooks LTs and Kooks catted y and my nice Corsa muffler was suddenly too loud, although there was no rasp. Yeah I too was worried about cops. I put in a quieter Magnaflow muffler. Problem solved.

My main concern is really being visually inspected and also state inspection. I don't mind if the car is loud because that's a simple $50 ticket, I just don't want a routine inspection to lead to more problems.

I'd imagine it's easier to get a new high flow catted Y pipe.

You can go with the TSP Cat Y-pipe, or get a set of Magnaflow (#59959) cats for $150-$200 a pair. If you go with the just the cats, then you'll need to factor in labor cost to install them, unless you're going to do it yourself.
