Default Any LSX install tips??

One of my buddies had to bang his coolant pipe a bit with a hammer to get it to fit right....any other quirks I should know about ahead of time?

Do I need to buy any parts before I do the install?

Installed a couple lately...nope bolts right on..

Theres a few things that are crap on the LSX since it costs so much

1) Why dont they include new gaskets in the intake, its gay to have to rob them out of the other intake,

2) The MAP sensor just kinda "hangs there" in the back of the intake instead of clipping in like a stock intake, this is stupid...

3) They have no threaded inserts to bolt the throttle body onto the intake. Its a total pain in the *** to get the bolts/nuts started on the throttle body and if you drop one your going to be SOL if you dont have access to more if you cant find it...

4) they eliminated a bracket hook up on the EVAP i believe it is...no reason for this..now that kinda just lays there
5) They even make you change the bolts on the valley cover instead of "slightly" dimpling the intake where the bolts go, or raising the floor a millimeter or so...another unnessesary change...

6) They cost to f-in much!

7)the way the vacuum line in the back hooks up is also a pain

8)The blowout discs should be bolted in, where it could be much easier to change if anyone ever has a backfire...

9) Should be available in black like the stock intake instead of just grey....

10) Has anyone installed fuel rail covers (vettes) on one yet? do they fit right...they dont look like they would...

Is the lsx heavier than the stocker? I am hopefully about to have a 90mm myself, keep us up to date on the results.

C4VetteLS1, excellent post. That does sound pretty disappointing for a product that took this long to come out and costs that much.

Great post. These are somethings I'll be looking for. I'll have to do some zip tying to clean things up so it seems. The manifold comes with nuts and bolts for the TB hook-up?

C4VetteLS1, wow, I didnt know there were that many irregularities with the intake. Perhaps they will revise it and fix some of these problems. Do they include new valley cover bolts with the intake or is it up to you to find new ones that are shallower? Also, that is inexcusable that the throttle body holes are not threaded...perhaps thats just an oversight on the early production ones.
