Default Resonated exhaust tips....

These tips claim to eliminate drone and deepen the sound of the exhaust a little bit. What do you guys think, would it be worth a try??

I used to have resonated tip son my DD and it made a noticable difference in sound vs. regular tips.

The intercooled borla tips do a great job of projecting sound. My car is VERY quiet if you stand in the front or inside the car.

I put Hooker resonator tips on my GMMG to help cut rasp after my LT install and they helped A LOT. Deepened the sound and cut rasp. They were heavy, though.

Custom td's with pacesetter LT's and magnaflow hi flow heavy metal cats, magnaflow x pipe, 2 lm1's under the axle and out. A few people here have said these tips will deepen the sound which is what I want to do. I love how loud the lm1's are so I don't want to swap them. So i'll see how much more response i get on this issue by the weekend and make my decision from there so keep the comments and experiences coming guys thanks again

A friend who's a tech with a lot of exhaust experience told me that tips will make a big difference in sound. I was skeptical, but when I tried it, the results spoke for themselves.

with TD and 2 LM1s you will never feel a difference between a small resonating tips! its so loud that it will hide the effect! the cats might be helping but i dont think you will ever notice anything by changing tips..

Roll the dice, try 'em and see. You won't break the bank. I don't think you'll be disappointed

Well I went with these, will let everyone know if they make a difference or not. And even if I don't get a sound difference I will like the quad tip look in the rear.

Back when I was in high school in the late 90's, everyone had a similar resonated tip (Ansa brand) on their cars. This was back before Fast and Furious. A buddy had one on a 83 280z....we basically left everything else stock and chopped off the muffler, then welded this tip on. It made it louder, and actually sounded really good, but was by no means loud. If you have a really loud exhaust, it'll quieten it definitely.

I had one on a 4cyl s10 with a glasspack in place of the stock muffler and it was no louder than stock.

Well I'm not really looking for quiet just a deeper tone. I really hope it doesn't make it as quiet as your describing or ill be pissed lol. If they do that then ill just cut them off and put my single 3" slash tips back on.

Holy unlyrical bat **** Batman, these damn things are HUGE!!!! I don't know if I'm gonna like the way these look on the car or not. Guess we will see, if they give me the deeper tone I want then ill deal with the look if I don't like it. But hell, I may like them once they are on the car. I'll post pics and before and after videos once its done.

Exhaust tips change the sound of any exhaust system, might be very little difference when you have a loud exhaust though. You will probably notice it more at idle then cruise/wot speeds.

Here is what my TD's sound like now with stock mani's and cats. I'm doing my LT,MM,Cats, plugs & wires swap next weekend. Should I put the tips on now or AFTER LT install??

I didn't have tips on my TSP Rumbler catback fro the LONGEST time. I actually grabbed a set of resonated/baffled tips from Checkers and put them on a couple years ago. There was a definite difference. It shut the exhaust up quite a bit! I think most of it was just the fact that it moved the noise farther back on the car. It helped kill a lot of the rasp on normal driving. On WOT anything passes through a wide open exhaust and it'll get by.

Now... The first vid is JUST BOLT ONS! NO CAM.. But pay attention to the rasp and overall snappy-quality of the exhaust. This was BEFORE THE TIPS. (I have an untuned h/c video, but no revs.. Wouldn't really work here.)

This was AFTER the tips. (But with H/c) Not as noisy.. No revs. a LOT less rasp at normal driving. Killed a LOT of the drone.
