Another position for PCV catch <pics> OK I decided to do the compressor version of the catch. I was not experiencing any oil consumption, but I could see some oil was getting through.
I placed my can right next to the normal connection. Looks a little cleaner to me. I had to move the hose outside of the breather hose along the valve cover. It is only an inch from the original position. Only took 10 minutes.
Try to ignore the dirt. Car was in the body shop for some custom paint and I have not had a chance to clean the engine compartment yet.

I did this today and replaced my pvc pipe catch can. I like it much better. The only thing I did different was place it before the PCV valve. I had to use an elbow to make it fit the way I wanted. It looks much cleaner than my old setup.

I looked at that CH can at home depot, but I thought I read that it was not to be used above something like 15X or 17X degrees (can't remember which)? My motor get hotter than that, so I was worried about the glass breaking eventually.....

I just looked at it at Auto Zone, and it is a nice piece. It does say not to use with Synthetic oils, and a list of other things, that I asume will break down the plastic glass over time.
I didn't see anything about heat. I think if spaced far enough away from the block, it should be ok. I might have to give it a try.
