Default K&N HP2006 filter hangs really low...pic inside

Hey All,
Just got my SS to Germany a week ago and did an oil change this weekend. I have to order filters from the states because all they have here on post is fram filters. I got the 2006 after reading a little on the forums, but after I put it on Im scared a speed bump will take it off and then I'll be SOL. Should I switch to the shorter K&N or a Delco? Im keeping the 2006 on until I get another filter or decide to keep it.

The car is lowered on Koni 4/3 shocks and strano springs.

BTW- The Germans LOVE this car.

Thanks guys!

Run it.. You will be fine...

If your worried about hitting something hard enough to damage the filter, I would be more concerned about the oil-pan.. The filter doesnt hang that much lower.

I've used the HP 2006 for years on a lowered car. Don't worry about it. Looks like your exhaust pipe will hit before it does.

I as well was a bit worried about it, but never had any issues when I ran it on my car. Also, if they have Fram XG (ONLY the XG) filter on base, use those. They are Gold with a black grip strip around the bottom. Just recently they improved these filters, and it is now testing better than K&N, Mobil, Amsoil, Wix etc. Out of everything tested the XG was the best.

That's what I was thinking. But some of the "dips" on the 'Bahn can bottom you out if you're hauling fast enough. And Frankfurt has BUILDINGS as speed-bumps (Fair warning OP).. I was stationed there for two years (Ramstien,) but I bought a VW beater. OP has a reason to be concerned, but not. If anything, switch to an M1 filter next oil change.
