Talking "Maybe" SSRA does work..12.402@111.96

Guys, I'm fairly happy with the track results from Atco, N.J. today after adding the SSRA. I took out the back seats yesterday in preperation to going to the track today losing 32lbs. Then like a dummy I showed up at the track with all most 1/2 tank of gas, so much for the weight loss.

I took a dremel tool to my stock Tb and installed the SSRA. Obviously today was a different day than the last which showed the results in the sig.

When I left the track I went to a Pilot gas station & weighed the car with me in it. The total weight was 3700 lbs. Car 3480, me 220.

I lined up with a 2003 Cobra and the results of our run was as follows;

My 1999 Z28 2003 Cobra
60' 1.718 60' 2.111
330' 5.166 330' 5.534
1/8 7.975 1/8 8.292
mph 87.20 mph 89.10
990' 10.315 990' 10.636
1/4 12.402 1/4 12.783
mph 111.96 mph 109.22

I'm guessing the Cobra missed 4th gear.. I still think I would have beat him but not by much. I saw him run 12.46@112.2 later in the day.

Other than porting my own TB the engine is bone stock, exhaust manifolds & all. I did cut a 1.689 60' on my last run of the day but missed 3rd(Hot clutch).
What do you guys think, Fred

I'd be curious to know what the DA was where you ran.

Nice Runs, 12.4 for a stock engine is pretty impressive.

Not to mention a 1.718 60' time with a M6 with the mods listed and a 3700 lb race weight.

Good results Fred. You should knock off a couple of tenths with some headers.

Ram Air works especially the second 1/8th of the track.
I made one as big as I could possibly fit into the car and it seems to work ok

OK, from the info you emailed me and the weather data I looked up, your DA today at Atco was between -2400 ft and -2600 ft. The actual elevation is 33 ft. I guess there is something good about Jersey. We never see anything anywhere close to that here in Okla. Great times.

My tires are P255/16/50 BFG Drag Radials.

My suspension includes Moser 12 Bolt 4.11's, Metco lower control arms & Hal Qa1 rear drag shocks. The rest is original equipment, Fred

Can't beat the air there! I have raced there before in those conditions. 4 tenths and 5mph versus the summer

that awsome numbers, i have never seen a basicly stock ls1 run faster than a 8.4 in the 1/8th, but that was on our nasty no traction havin track in georgia. I cant wait to run on these tracks up here in kentucky to see what a difference a good track makes. Congrats on the numbers man.

I've been thinking about buying that or the FRTA kit for some time now, but cant justify it. Congrats on the times though. Im starting to get pissed seeing all these people running mid-low 12's and trapping 110-114mph. I really really need to work on my 60'. I trap at 115-116 but no low 12's yet

Looks good Fred! Just watch the hot clutch! I told you it was great as long as you gave it time to cool down. Car seems to run real good. Those Hals probably don't hurt.
See ya later!
