^I'll be doing the ls6 swap on my car this summer 112 to a 122 trap is a huge jump ith just that change. did you add nitrous or any other mods at that time? Only difference is my ls6 is gonna have an auto behind it.
No nitrous....I hate that ****. It was more of a evolution of changes. Back to back with the same setup as the ls1 it picked up 6 tenths and 6 mph. Then I started tinkering with the car and tuned it and put 4.11 in it and it went 11.8@ 119.8 on the 18's. I drove it for years like that for a while then I started tinkering again. Changed from macs to kooks headers on it, did some constructive weight reduction(still has all creature comforts and sound deadening), faceplated the trans, put a 17# complete clutch setup in it. On the 122 mph it was actually bouncing off the rev limiter @ 6800 so I changed from the 4.11 to the 3.90 and picked up 2 mph to 124+ consistantly. It will go faster....I'm still not leaving on it very hard because of the 10bolt. It has more of a roadrace setup on it. The 11.1 was with my drag wheels but I'm pretty confident it will go a 11.3 on the 18's now.....I've been tinkering a little more . Amazing what a stock crate motor from GM can do with 80,000 on it now.

Oh and it has nothing to do with it being a LS6, either something is up with the motor mounts or those headers aren't made right...

Sorry to hear about that issue, cutting off a little bit of the K member will be easy and it wont hurt anything.
aside from just bad luck what could be wrong? I'm cutting the k member with a dremel but it's no picnic.

I have to take out and replace or grind the sensor plug on the back of the head on the passenger side because the header is hitting it.

Ok the headers I have are Hooker 2469-hkr they are for a 2000-2002 F-body they have egr and air fittings

My car is a 98 the motor is a 04 CTS-V

hooker also has 2468-hkr they are for 1998-1999 F-body

Sumitt recommended the 2469 but does anyone know the difference?

but he didn't really give me a reason he just said "because the 2468 are for a 98 car"

What's the difference in a 98 and 2000 T/A body aren't they identical?

This is going to be a PITA to either have my car sitting atleast 2 weeks to send the headers back and exchange them or put everything back until I get them....unless these can work??

I grinded the passenger K-member down quite a bit..it still hits and the bolts won't line up completely!

Looks like I'm putting my exhaust manifolds back on and sending these back!

Any help appreciated??? Did they send me the wrong headers? What's the difference aside from egr(which these have anyway) Should I keep grinding the k-member down? They got sratched up slightly from trying to line them up and I'm sure if I send them back they're going to nit pick and give me full credit.

Well the question is willthey work even when modifying? I grinded the k-member and they still hit and won't line up. I guess I can grind some more but 2000-2002 headers are supposed to work on a 98 car right??

The tech from Hooker was telling me "they aren't fitting because your car is a 98 and the headers are for an 00-02" I told him I thought the only difference was egr but these have them anyway and he was telling me the frame must be different.

sounds fishy to me. I don't see why either of those headers shouldnt work on your car. If you've grinded and they still don't fit i'd definitily get another set of headers (and 1 7/8ths at that).

The problem is they're now used headers and I could
A)grind some more off the k-frame(how much is too much though?) and try lining them up again
b)quit...and box them up, send them back..wait a week till they get them...wait some more till they "inspect" them..so they can probably tell me they're scratched up and won't give me a full/partial refund. Put my exhaust manifolds. y-pipe. plugs etc and drive the car till I get different ones or let the car sit in my garage for 2 weeks.

Will do..gonna give it another shot in the morning..I have to jack the car real high to take the header down...so I can grind more. The tech from Hooker doesn't know what the hell he's talking about...there is no difference in the frame from a 98-02...I'll probably have the same problem if I exchanged them for the 2468's...This has been one nightmare...

The set I have is the 2469...the 2468 are the ones for a 98-99. I was looking at the headers on ebay they are one size fits all for 98-02 F-bodies so there must be no difference in the bends or the collector size with the Hookers. I seriously doubt they changed the location of the k member from 98-99 and 00-02 cars like the guy from Hooker said.Gonna take some pics before I start grinding some more.
