Can be a lot more than you think. I'd do the valve job & home port it yourself, then just have the machine shop deck 'em or use a thin gasket.

you can get some lapping compound and lapping tools and machinest die and do it your self.you can pour fluid down the port and see if the valves leak.buy some new valve seals and springs from a vendor.

You may be able to pick up a set of used 243 heads for cheaper than paying a shop for a valve job and milling. Just a thought. What heads are on the car now?

i have 853 heads now and a leaking header cause the idiots i had put them on stripped the front and rear head bolts and i think its eating at the valves im gonna spend at least 450-500 on 243's or 799's i probably dont need to do a valve job or get these milled because they were just pulled off but i was just trying to be safe then sorry

I would have them cleaned and checked or at least cleaned and new valve seals.

There are home ported 241 threads all over this site. Valve job threads, as well. Search is your friend. Honestly, with a little research & ability, home working 241's can flow very well. Many have made 400+ RWHP through home ported 241's, mild cam + springs that allow for higher RPM's. There are also members making mid to high 400's RWHP depending on the cam, but through home ported 241's.

Send the 241's to Advanced Induction. Spoke to Ron about possibly working over my 241's at some point and he said I could expect gains in the 40-45rwh with their work. $700 +shipping.

$175 is a good price.
I myself have had 2 sets of 241 heads. Both were done at a highly reputable cylinder head workshop.
First pair were reconditioned, milled 0.30, 3 angle job and bowls blended =$1460 australian dollars.
Second pair were purchased unused and came complete with 2.08 and 1.575 valves plus 0.650 springs. They were cnc Ported on intake and exhaust by TSP =$1250 Australian dollars to get to this stage but then I had the local workshop who done the first set previously mill them 0.20 , 3 angle grind and hand finish the cnc porting then bench flowed =$570 Australian dollars. $1820 in total for the second pair. I pick them up Friday so will have flow sheets to see what they actually do flow.

Yeah I could have just bought a number of different aftermarket heads for cheaper or for a little bit more or but I enjoy seeing the heads transformed from stock to pieces of art and feels like a custom made deal to me.

The first pair we're teamed up with a small 220/224, 575/575 lift 112 cam and produced 377rwhp through a 2800 stalled auto with 228,000km on the clock.

Second pair are yet to used and haven't decided on cam yet.

If it were me I would just get a set of 243's! I got mine for 450.00 and they came with the Duel Valve springs. They flowed in the 270's Stock if I remember and I had slight bowl work and a valve job and they flowed around 310 afterwards. I spent 500.00 on the combustion chamber work and valve work, milled them down as well..
