Default worth putting LS6 intake on mild bolton car?

Just wondering if it's worth putting an LS6 intake on my 97 vette. All I have is a Blackwing cold air and LT headers and full exhaust and ported throttle body. If tuning is needed I can do that since I have EFI Live. Is there any gains from the LS6 intake?

Absolutely worth it! LS6 intake is ~15hp over the LS1 intake. I ran one even w my h/c setup. Most R&D for FAST, BBK and other top intakes are done off the LS6 design.

No I don't plan on doing any other mods to it. I have my trans am modded up pretty good so one car shaking and loping around is enough for me, haha

His C5 seems to be bolt ons. He's got the TA in his sig too.

But I hear ya. Don't need to be modding two nearly identical cars.

OO crap, I was looking at your ws6 sig. But anyways, yes, upgrading to an ls6 is a wise choice.

well here is the deal. My friend gave me his LS6 intake today because he upgraded to the fast intake. He let me have it for free so that was super cool of him. i just hate working on that damn corvette so i just wasn't sure if the gains were worth the trouble

If you don't want to deal with the trouble of the install, I'd buy it off you for more than you have in it

haha I bet you would, haha. I just hate leaning over the damn fenders hoping not to scratch the paint. But I would guess it should be even more easy to change than the trans am since the engine doesn't set under the dash like the TA does

The swap is really not too bad, the biggest pain is the fact that the manifold sits partly under the cowl on the F-bodies, which on your Corvette is not an issue. I felt a nice gain when switched to the LS6, in conjunction with a frost tune.

Do it. It is EASY, especially on a vette and I got better gains with my ls6 intake than I did with my headers. It takes about 30 mins and ur done. Go for it

Yea they are a rubber gasket. If they look good they should be fine.

My LS6 was a "new" take off from a Z06, I reused my gaskets and they seem ti be fine, no vacuum leaks or anything.
