Well you get a nice 4 barrel EFI throttle body, and cut the cowl, and, and, and.

Also, you notice that it is ready to be machined for injectors.

Hey thats why thy call it a project right?

I thought about trying out the single plan intake with a carb but my big concern is that you would be bypassing the PCM, which isn't a problem, except what to do about the ignition system. How could you get the LS1 DIS to work with a carb setup? Its not like you can throw any MSD ignition on there, how would you read the cam/crank sensors and adjust the timing of the motor?

If you stayed fuel injected using a throttle body, are you sure that the single plane inake design will out perform the LS6 intake and ported throttle body setup?

As far as fuel goes, if you run a carb I bet you could just leave the injectors unplugged.

well , we flowed the intake on a LS6 stage 3 heads and the flow not that great, however its definietly is better than the LS6. it well make power just for the fact for the big opening and the short runners, we will see how it will react with a solid roller when the whole engine is done. and as far for the set up, a wilson 105mm TB will be attached to the elbow if not a 4 barrel will be on top of the intake..

To run a carb, wouldn't you just remove all the fuel related programs from the computer?
Just like some already delete unwanted parts of the program... such as the egr, speed limiters, rear o2, etc...

turning new engines into old engines...take a 2002 car and wedge a stroked 454 blower motor into it....as you see in my sig I like big old motors!

Its simple..
Buy a GEN VII setup, run a 90MM Ford TB and this intake with a 90 turn like C4Vette said.
Should make for a killer setup, good luck Ryan..

From: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/...manifolds.html

urve, providing optimum performance from 1500 to 6500 rpm. This manifold includes a unique electronic Timing Control Module made by MSD® which works with OE sensors to fire the “distributorless” ignition system and offers a choice of three timing curves.
They also list a separate part number for the control module. EFI is still way cooler...
